CWC Challenge #19

Good morning fellow crafters,

It’s another Wonderful Wednesday! It’s challenge day over at CWC! Another super fun challenge for you.
This week’s theme is:

3-2 double take challenge-200wjl
DOUBLE TAKE!

You need to create a project with the following elements
  • 2 pieces of cardstock (preferably two different colors)
  • 2 pieces of patterned paper (preferably different patterns)
  • 2 embellishments
This is just the minimum. If you want to use more colors, papers and embellies, you are more than welcome….but it needs to have at least the minimum above.
Once again, to qualify, you need to
  • Submit a new project
  • Needs to include a Cricut or other die cut machine of some type cut on it.
  • You also need to make sure your post has a link back to CWC.
As always, you are more than welcome to Pile On the challenges!
So here is what I created!

Here is a view of the entire layout.

Here is a close up shot of the flowers and cherries.

I used the Lyrical Letters, Paper Lace and Paisley Cartridges as well as some great Graphic 45 paper to create this Domestic Goddess Layout.

This is how I made the vintage chipboard frame .

painting1
I painted the chipboard with some white acrylic paint. I used a regular piece of sponge.

painted chipboard
This is what the completed 12 x 12 piece of chipboard painted looked like. I purposely left it streaked and roughly painted.
I then cut it into  4 -  1.5”  x 12” strips and 4- .75” x 12” strips.

frame1
I then used some repositionable glue to glue them down. This is what the bottom layer looked like. I then added the .75” strips on top of this one in the same fashion.

Next you will need to trim the corner of your frame from inner edge to outer edge.

Remove the “extra” pieces.

This is what the “mitered” corner looks like with the pieces removed.

Use tape or some other type of adhesive to secure the corner.

This is what the completed frame looks like. Once the frame is completed you can use pop dots to lift it up.finished frame mitered
