Melin here with a quick tip. I was making a paper piecing of a bunny rabbit and wanted to do something for her whiskers. I didn’t want to just draw some on, so I decided to try using some twine. Here is what I came up with.
So here is how I did it. I have a spool of Maraschino Twine from The Twinery and nothing that was just a solid color. I notice that like most twine, it is two colors of “twine” twisted together. So I just separated the twine by the colors first.
I then noticed that each color had two “threads” so I further separated those.
I then simply cut them at varying lengths and adhered them to my bunny face. I didn’t want the “bulk” of the twine to impede the finished look of her face, so I used a pop dot to raise up the nose so it wouldn't look “bumpy” underneath.
Here is a close up of the bunny’s whiskers.
Again, here is one last look at the Bunny. I haven’t put her on a project yet, but when I do, I will share it with everyone :)
Well I hope that gave you just one more use for your twine. Thanks so much for stopping by.
